China: Grand Ceremony Held to Honor Competitive Cigarette Brand Source from: Tobacco online china 03/04/2009 ![]() Jiangxi Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation - the operator of the tobacco industry in east China's Jiangxi Province - held a high-profile ceremony in the provincial capital city of Nanchang on March 1 to highlight the rolling down from the production line of the 1 millionth case of cigarettes of its big competitive Jinsheng brand.
Ling Chengxing, deputy provincial governor of Jiangxi, attended the ceremony and unveiled the 1 millionth case of Jinsheng brand cigarettes, which was going on the market.
Jinsheng as a cigarette brand was created 15 years ago. Over the past 15 years, Jiangxi Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation has adhered to the policy of developing Jinsheng into a tobacco product based on harm reduction with natural herbal substances. As a result, Jinsheng has realized a historical leap forward from a small local cigarette brand to a leading cigarette brand in Jiangxi, and further to a Chinese-style tobacco product with natural herbal fragrances.
Over the past 15 years, the total output and sales volume of Jinsheng have reached 1 million cases. It has generated 20 billion yuan (2.86 billion U.S. dollars) in manufacturing and commercial taxes and profits. Jinsheng is the only brand in Jiangxi capable of generating over 10 billion yuan (1.43 billion U.S. dollars) in taxes. Therefore, it has become a mainstay for economic growth and financial revenue in Jiangxi Province.
It was reported that Jiangxi Provincial China Tobacco Industry Corporation is planning to spend the next three to five years striving to turn Jinsheng into a representative Chinese-style cigarette brand with natural herbal fragrances, and also into a key national-level cigarette brand. Enditem
