Yunyan Cigarette Brand Rated Among Top Ten Famous Brands Source from: Hongyun.com 04/08/2008 ![]() Yunyan - a big competitive cigarette brand owned by Hongyun Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - has recently been rated among the Top Ten famous brands in an appraisal sponsored by zgsjml.cn, the Business Community Elites magazine and the Courage Times Designing agency, known as "2007 China Business Community Elites' Annual List of Top Ten Brands".
The appraisal was conducted through a vote in writing, a market survey and an online vote, before the results of voting and market survey were comprehensively reviewed and approved by the editorial board of the Business Community Elites magazine, a panel of experts and the Yunnan Provincial Association of Cultures. The results were published by Business Community Elites magazine on its third issue.
Besides Yunyan, two other cigarette brands of Yunnan were also rated among the "2007 China Business Community Elites' Annual List of Top Ten Brands" - Mount Hongtashan owned by Hongta Group and Honghe owned by Honghe Group.
From the creation of the Yunyan cigarette brand in 1958 to the end of 2007, the aggregate output of Yunyan totaled more than 7.5 million cases (375 billion cigarettes), and the amount of taxes and profits generated by Yunyan reached over 60 billion yuan (8.45 billion U.S. dollars). So far, Yunyan has been the biggest cigarette brand of Yunnan Province in terms of the annual amount of taxes and profits and the size of contribution to the national economic development.
In 2008, Hongyun Group is striving to meet the target of realizing a "leap forward" from the provincial market to the national market and a "leap forward" from the domestic market to the international market", and also the target of turning Yunyan into one of the 10 biggest Chinese cigarette brands.
