Hongta Group Meets on Development of World-Class Competitive Cigarette Brands Source from: Hongta Group 03/05/2008 ![]() Hongta Group in southwest China's tobacco-producing Yunnan Province - the largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - held a meeting of representatives of workers on February 26-27, unveiling plans to strengthen the competitiveness of its existing cigarette brands and to develop world-class leading competitive cigarette brands.
In an address to the meeting, Li Suiming, president of Hongta Group, summed up the achievements of Hongta Group in an ongoing reform of the structure of its existing cigarette brands in 2007, saying that the structural reform has generated positive effects, that Hongta Group has registered a historic breakthrough in the development of its three major cigarette brands, that the annual output of the big competitive Mount Hongtashan cigarette brand has topped one million cases (50 billion cigarettes), and that both top-grade and high-grade cigarette brands of Hongta Group have seen their competitiveness strengthened to different extents.
In unveiling plans for strengthening the competitiveness of existing cigarette brands and for developing world-class leading competitive cigarette brands, Li said that the whole of Hongta Group should focus energy on developing competitive cigarette brands and practically well fulfilling the following six points of work to this endeavor in a future period of time:
Firstly, to practically promote coordination between the manufacturing and commercial sectors and upgrade marketing in an all-round way;
Secondly, to strengthen the competitiveness of existing cigarette brands;
Thirdly, to lay a solid foundation for raw material supply and strengthen the capacity to guarantee the supply of raw materials for cigarette production;
Fourthly, to lay a solid foundation for scientific-technological research for cigarette production and upgrade the independent innovation capacity;
Fifthly, to develop a new production management system, with the system of organization of production in accordance with orders placed by customers at the core, and to improve the management proficiency; and
Sixthly, to strengthen the development of human resources and strive to develop an excellent corporate culture of Hongta Group. Enditem
