Hongyun Group to Present New Product

Hongyun Group in southwest China's Yunnan Province - the second largest Chinese tobacco manufacturer - will present to the domestic market in the near future a new cigarette product of the famous Yunyan brand family, known as Jixiang Yunyan (Propitious Yunnan Tobacco). In a recent interview with the official Xinhua News Agency, a senior official with Hongyun Group said that Jixiang Yunyan will be made with the more than 80 years old fine cigarette-making technologies of Hongyun Group and made mainly from choicest high-grade leaf tobacco grown in China, with the addition of high-quality imported leaf tobacco. Specifically, the technologies to be used for making Jixiang Yunyan will include the technology of grouped leaf processing typical for making Chinese-style cigarettes, the technology of soft processing and the technology of functional processing, which will enable the natural tobacco flavor and sweetness of cigarettes to spread naturally, and which will make cigarette smoke pure and sufficient, with delicate, well-coordinated and sufficient scent, said Wei Zhigang, secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission of Hongyun Group. Meanwhile, the trademark design of Jixiang Yunyan will be made in a finest way, with seven calligraphic writings of the Chinese character of tobacco as the main pattern. In November 2005, Qujing Cigarette Factory and Kunming Cigarette Factory - both key cigarette factories based in Yunnan - merged to form Hongyun Group, with an annual cigarette production capacity of 2.4 million cases (120 billion cigarettes), only after Hongta Group.
